The philosophy of St. Mary Magdalene Religious Education Program is to continue the mission of Jesus through a catechetical ministry which embraces the young person by striving to provide an inclusive program that responds to the spiritual, intellectual, social and psychological needs of the total young person. Our teachers of religion accept the challenge to build the Christian community by accompanying the youth from pre-school through high school on their faith journey, and to break open the Word of God with them through faith sharing, instruction, experiential activities, service and worship Teachers receive in - service training and are encouraged to attend workshops held at St. Mary Magdalene as well as those sponsored by the Diocesan Office of Religious Education. All classes are open to all parish members, ages 4 through 14, and are taught by volunteer teachers form the parish community. To be effective, our Christian Formation Program depends upon adults who share their time and talents.

Parents are co-educators in Christian formation, as they have a key role in the development and sharing of Gospel values with their sons and daughters. The entire Christian community of St. Mary Magdalene also has a vital part in our community program as they are called to share their faith journey with the youth.
