LITURGICAL MINISTRIES
Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist
St. Joseph provides qualified men and women with opportunities to act as extraordinary ministers of the Eucharist on Sundays and some weekday Masses. This ministry is vital to the spiritual health and growth of the parish. They give to you the perfect gift--the Body and Blood of Christ. Come share in this wonderful ministry. Call the pastoral minister at 452-2982.
Lectors
St. Joseph is always looking for people who can proclaim the Word of God before the assembled faithful at Sunday and daily Masses. These are not professional readers, but rather, regular lay
people who have a special talent for proclaiming the Word of God. If you have a desire to be a part of this special ministry call the Pastoral Minister for more information.
Altar Servers
St. Joseph utilizes both boys and girls, men and women as servers at the altar. This is an important ministry to the parish. These are assigned for Sunday and weekday Masses, and also for weddings, funerals, and para-liturgical services. For more information call Deacon Marty at 452-2982.
Ushers
The ushers at St. Joseph Church, otherwise known as Ministers of Hospitality, have been instrumental in seeing that Sunday and holy day liturgies run smoothly. These men and women are responsible for hospitality, seating people, taking up the collection and for distribution of bulletins. Sometimes they may act as giftbearers. These are the first to greet someone who may know nothing about our parish. This ministry is for someone who can make others feel welcome and comfortable. Call the Pastoral Minister for details at 452-2982.
Choir and Music Ministry
St. Joseph prides itself in the musical quality of its liturgies. Our choir and music ministry programs always welcome new voices and instrumentalists. A desire to serve the Lord in music and song is all that is required. Opportunities to participate include choir, cantors, singers, and musicians. Contact the rectory or music minister to join.
