Religious Education Program

St. Joseph offers religious education classes in conjunction with Sacred Heart Church for those students who are not enrolled in a Catholic School. First Penance is received early in the Spring of the child’s second grade year. Parents are actively involved in this preparation process through their attendance and participation. The preparation for first Eucharist begins immediately following and takes place later in the Spring. Parents, again, have the duty and privilege to be intimately involved in preparing their children for First Eucharist. Contact the rectory for more details of times and dates.

Confirmation

Confirmation takes place at St. Joseph every three years and is open for students in 10th, 11th or 12th grade. Students are invited to enter this process of preparation provided they have had some catechetical formation and have a desire to receive the sacrament. This preparation includes classroom sessions, retreats, and service work. Call rectory at 452-2982 to sign up.

Rite Of Christian Initiation For Adults

The RCIA program is a process by which those who are either unbaptized or baptized in another Christian denomination can enter the Catholic Church. Adult Catholics who are not confirmed or who are uncatechized may also participate in order to be confirmed or instructed in the Faith.

This process takes the candidate through a period of inquiry, instruction, spiritual preparation in a community experience that culminates in the reception of the Sacraments of Initiation at the Easter Vigil. Call the Pastoral Minister for further information.
