Parish Committees


APOSTOLATE COMMITTEE

The Apostolate Committee responds to the spiritual and human needs of the local community as well as sponsor various social events that include:

Christian Mother Confraternity Parish Sharing Sundays

The Apostolate Committee meets on the third Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in the Friary Meeting Room.

I may not follow jungle paths or teach in distant lands.  But still, there are some people here who need my loving hands.

EDUCATION COMMITTEE

The Education Committee is responsible for the education of the parish at all levels.

Programs implemented:

CCD (Confraternity of Christian Doctrine) is available for Kindergarten through Twelfth grade students and starts the second Sunday after Labor Day.  CCD Schedule, Sunday Kindergarten & Grades 7-12 at 9:30-10:45 a.m.  Monday & Wednesday Grades 1-6 at 6:15-7:30 p.m.  Contact Education Office 352-3030.

Preschool for children ( age 3 and up) is offered on Mondays and Wednesdays (morning and afternoon session) and on Tuesdays and Thursdays (morning and afternoon session) during the normal public school year.

Vacation Bible School is held one (1) week each summer for youth (ages 3 through high school).

RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) meets on Mondays at 7:30 p.m.
CIC (Christian Initiation of Children) meets on Mondays at 5:30 p.m.   (September through April)

Parish Library books and family videos can be found in St. Joseph Hall and is open to CCD students, as well as the parish at large.

Education Committee meets on the fourth Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Friary meeting room.

 

LITURGY COMMITTEE

The Liturgy Committee studies, promotes and plans Liturgical celebrations through educating, encouraging congregational participation, recommending Liturgical changes in compliance with current norms and Liturgical practices and training those commissioned with special Liturgical roles, such as:

Altar Servers, Children's Liturgy of the Word Ministry, Choir and Cantors, Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors, Ministers of Hospitality, Ministry of Praise.

The Liturgy Committee meets on the fourth Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Friary meeting room.

TEMPORALITIES COMMITTEE

The Temporalities Committee is responsible for advisory assistance to the Pastor and Parish Council regarding the temporal needs of the parish, such as:

Buildings and Grounds
Budget
Census
Fund-Raising  -Fall Festival/Spring Flea Market
Long Range Planning

The Temporalities Committee meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in the Friary Meeting Room.
