POLISH CULTURE Applications are now being accepted for students ages four years and older who express the desire to learn Polish language, history, culture, singing and dancing. CONGRATULATIONS to Jon Richer for maintaining the Deans list status during Spring Semester at Bucknell University, where he is co-president of the Catholic Campus Ministry.
Also, congratulations to Adam Richer for First Honors (Spring Semester) at St. Ignatius High School. Adam was inducted into the National Honor Society, commissioned as a Eucharistic Minister, and nominated to "Whos Who In American High Schools" for the third year.

CATECHETICAL SUNDAY is celebrated today. The theme for this year is" A year of favor: make all things new". Please support in prayer and personal example the work of our parish school in teaching the Catholic faith as well as our Parish School of Religion.
SEPTEMBER 17TH-24TH has been designated by Governor Taft of Ohio as Parent Week. The theme of this first annual week is "You Gotta Love Parents". Recognizing the critical and irreplaceable role that parents play in the lives of their children.
FAMILY CHOIR Our parish family choir is seeking more members. All ages with singing abilities are welcome to sing with us once a month at the 10:30 a.m. Mass. Practices usually on the last 2 Mondays at 7:15 p.m. in Church. For more information please call Pam Kelly at 341-7534.
DIVORCED AND SEPARATED A weekend for the divorced and separated men and women titled, "Moving Forward with Hope," will feature prominent speakers, workshops on personal growth, annulments, healthy relationships, a healing service and more. This event will be held at the Clarion Hotel in Middleburg Heights, on November 3rd 5th. Participants may choose to attend the entire weekend or Saturday only. Przez dlugie stulecia oczekiwal narod izraelski na wielkiego Mesjasza. Za czasow Jezusa oczekiwanie to zamienilo sie w przekonanie, ze Jahwe wnet posle swego Mesjasza. W przekonaniu ich, mial to byc przywodca polityczny, wladca, wojownik, zalozyciel krolestwa i rozdawca bogactw. Rowniez i apostolowie nie odeszli daleko od tych ogolnozydowskich przekonan. Oni rowniez wierzyli, ze Jezus jest tym od dawna upragnionym i oczekiwanym Mesjaszem z mieczem w rece.
Jezus jednak nie chcial i nie mogl byc takim Mesjaszem. Dlatego bezwglednie burzy zludne nadzieje i oczekiwania swojego narodu i swoich uczniow. Do Piotra, ktory usiluje zawrocic Go z Jego zyciowej drogi, zwraca sie w ostrych slowach: "Zejdz mi z oczu, szatanie, bo nie myslisz o tym, co Boze, ale o tym, co ludzkie". Nie chcesz sie wlaczyc do Bozego planu zbawienia, ale chcialbys wtloczyc Boga w swoje wlasne plany.
Plan Bozy jest calkowicie przeciwny tym wyobrazeniom, jakie sobie stworzyli Zydzi. Mesjasz bedzie nosil korone z ciernia zamiast krolewskiej, umrze na krzyzu, zostanie pochowany, ale przez zmartwychwstanie powroci do zycia w chwale i niesmiertelnosci, i w ten wlasnie sposob zbawi cala ludzkosc. On zwycieza nie w walce, ale w cierpieniu i w poswieceniu. Zwyciezy wtedy, gdy zostanie pokonany, a zabity - stanie sie zrodlem zycia. Ponizony na krzyzu stanie sie nieskonczenie wielki i potezny. Znienawidzony przez wielu bedzie wszystkich nieskonczenie milowal. Taki moze byc tylko Bog, a Mesjasz moze byc tylko taki. Czlowiek potrzebuje nie wladcy, tylko milosiernego Zbawiciela.

THE JESUIT RETREAT HOUSE, in Parma, has scheduled a day retreat for Wednesday, October 18th. Open to men and women, the day begins with coffee and pastry at 9:00 a.m. and ends by 3:00 p.m., with presentations, quiet time and mass. Walk our 57 acres of paved paths and visit the shrines along the way. The cost is $22.00 for the day, $18.00 for seniors and includes lunch. The Jesuit Retreat House is located at 5629 State Road.
