The Pastor's Insights
Hello! Welcome to St. Mary's Parish.

In the busy world of the marketplace, amidst the buying and selling that traffics in millions of products, it can be difficult not to become lost in the maelstrom of business and so diminish one's self to a commodity.

St. Mary's Parish exists to serve human needs, concerns of the whole person, from cradle to grave. At the heart of that service lies a vocation for each member of the community. Our service is everyone's calling. Our response is everyone's mission. If you wish to belong to a faith community only to take or get what you need, then we are not the place for you. But if you wish to serve as well as be served, then investigate who we are. Hospitality is for all and by all.

Whoever you are, I promise you that your personal investments in our community of faith will be returned to you many times over. You may register with us anytime. Investigate our ministries. We are a parish attempting to be inclusive. We know that we are diminished when potential members are indifferent to us. We know we are enriched whenever anyone becomes one of us.

The word of Cod that we attend to in worship will both comfort and challenge you. The eucharist you receive will nurture as well as create a hunger for more. Our interpersonal relationships will support you and probe you to grow. This parish-community is an unfolding mystery of the ancient battle between sin and grace. You will be changed for the good if you risk becoming one of us.

As the winter winds its way toward Lent's beginnings, we will be exploring "spirituality" in an adult education experience. This might be a good way of getting a taste of our community. Worship itself is another way for you to experience our presence. The Spirit of God is irrepressable. I hope we can enflesh that Spirit for you. I hope you can gift us with the Spirit's presence in and for you.

St. Mary's parish welcomes you. Come and experience ~~passion that transforms, a community building up Cod's kingdom.

Peace be with you, always.
