Parish Organizations

St. Therese Ladies Guild:

The Ladies Guild is one of the oldest organizations in St. Therese Church thanks to many sincere women who work diligently to keep the ladies of St. Therese a strong community. The Ladies Guild meets the second Wednesday of the month at 7;00 p.m. Though basically an enjoyable night out, the objective of this organization is to foster the devotion to St. Therese, '£The Little Flower" and to help materially and financially with the support of the Church. The Guild also promotes frequent Communion. In December the Guild hosts an annual Christmas Fair to raise hinds thus enabling them to make considerable donations to needy organizations in the area' to the Missions and to our Church for the First Communion Breakfast. The Guild creates Baptismal robes and regularly provides for new altar cloths.

There are two special groups of women within the Guild, one group that goes to the local convalescent home to play Bingo with the residents. The other group of women are dedicated women who attend the wakes of deceased St. Therese parishioners.

Membership: Open to all women of the Parish.
Meetings: Second Wednesday of every month at 7:30 p.m.

The Friends of St Therese:

The Friends of St. Therese group began in September of 1992 for the purpose of assisting the Men's Club in both social and service roles for the Parish.

At the Coffee hour, at the Dinners, Picnics and the Carnival, the Friends of St. Therese take a fully active roll. On their own, the members published a new Parish Cookbook and with it raised the fluids for the Statue and Grotto which grace the south lawn of the Church. Cookbooks are still available for $7.00 each plus shipping and handling, please call the rectory.

Membership: Open to all women of the parish who are available to fulfill both social and service roles for the parish.
Meetings: As scheduled.

The Men's Club, reactivated in 1992, is both a social and a service organization of the Parish. As a social group the men sponsor trips, dinners, dances, picnics, and "After Mass" Coffee Hour four times a year. As a service organization, they regularly repair, refurbish and reconstruct any part of the Church or Han which needs improvement. From new kneelers to church chandelier lights, from basement reconstruction to the choir loft new floor and railings, they are always ready to work. The "new" Boccie Court symbolized the combined social and service role of the Men's Club.
