Religious Instruction


The Religious Education Committee is an organization that meets to discuss, help organize and implement all education programs for the parish from pr~school through adult. This committee acknowledges that parents are the primary educators of their children. The committee's role is to assist the Director of Religious Education in making sure parents are informed about and involved in their children's religious education.

This committee works closely with the Director of Religious Education. They meet with the Director approximately six (6) times a year. Together they oversee the education and spiritual needs of the people of the parish.

Some of the educational programs administered by the Director of Religious Education &e as follows:

Pre-School Program:
For 3-4 year olds--Meets during the 9:30 Mass on Sundays in the Church Hall from October thru April.

Kindergarten/Transition Program:
Meets on Saturday mornings from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. from September to April.

Grades 1-6:
Meet on Monday, Tuesday, afternoons starting at *4:15-8:30 p.m. (*Classes are scheduled for one hour and fifteen minutes) or Saturdays from 8:45 to 10:00 am., from September thru April.

Grades 7 thru 10:
Meet in the teachers' home or at the rectory. Classes run either 75 minutes or 90 minutes. Confirmation is conferred in the Fall of their Sophomore year.

Catholic Youth Group:

Students in grades 9-12, meet at 7:00 p.m. in the Rectory on Sunday evenings. They participate in social, spiritual and service activities.

Adult Education: Various adult programs offered throughout the year, most often during Advent and Lent. For additional information please call 234-9287.

Meetings: Approximately (6) times per year.
