Church of the Most Precious Blood
Chula Vista, CA
The Order of the Incarnate Word was founded in Lyon, France in 1625 by
the Venerable Jeanne Chezard de Matel.
This year we commemorate the first hundred years of the presence of the
Incarnate Word in Mexico. 1834- 1934 One hundred years of blessings...
to experience the loving and tender love of our Heavenly Father towards
each one of the sisters, beloved brothers and sisters of the Third Order,
students, parents, teachers, catechists, friends.
One Hundred years flamed by social, political, economic, religious and
ecclesial events of relevance, because in one way or the other they
influence our life.
Five sisters from Lyon, France came to Texas to start a convent and school. In 1852 five sisters from this community went to Mexico to staff several Catholic schools. In 1926 the religious persecution threatened to destroy this Order, but it was preserved and new convents and schools were founded, even in Argentina and Cuba. With the support of the Bishop of Mexico the sisters continued the mission: "to love and make loved the Incarnate Word" through the education of children, youngsters and adults.
Our congregation has 403 religious sisters, 55 juniors, 33 novices, and
27 postulants. Sisters from North and South America Spain, France and Cuba,
serving in 14 States of Mexico, California, Argentina, Guatemala, Spain,
France, and Africa, in the ministry of Christian Education, Evangelization
and Basic Education. Our Third Order has 390 brothers and sisters living
the same spirituality within their own state of life.
We invite each one of you, dear friends of Most Precious Blood Community
to celebrate this 100th Anniversary, a church event, with a grateful heart
and generosity to live, as Jesus did to make a just, loving and better
world. Mary, the Mother of God has been with us through this year of grace
and salvation.
